Fabric Saturators from CVM Inc.

CVM Inc. Fabric Saturators are industrial-strength fabric impregnators built specifically for the fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) industry. Common fibers used in this industry may be comprised of fiberglass, carbon, or even kevlar. The polymer addition is applied by a fabric saturator and may vary based on the end usage. Frequently applied polymers are epoxies, thermoplastic resins, and polyurethane. The application of fiber-reinforced polymers with fabric saturators is a proven technology for providing additional strength and other qualities to concrete, masonry, and other steel structures. After the fabric has been saturated, it can be applied as part of the repair process to provide improved strength and waterproofing characteristics to concrete structures.
Fabric saturators from CVM Inc. offer a straightforward approach to creating reinforced pre-preg materials. The industrial-grade fabric saturator can be easily loaded with a dry roll of fabric that is evenly and uniformly impregnated with the desired resin reinforcement. After the resin is applied, the structurally improved fabric is re-rolled onto a PVC pipe to provide simple installation for operators at the job site. Thanks to a heavy-duty frame and casters, the equipment can be manipulated with ease into position near the intended work site to limit the over-handling of valuable materials and resources.
While these technologically advanced composite materials offer exceptionally high strengths, they are also lightweight and easy to work with. Fabric saturators are exceptionally useful in new-build construction applications as well as in upgrading existing structures. Fiber-reinforced polymers are widely used to improve the load capacity of existing buildings, offer seismic protection in regions susceptible to earthquakes, or correct possible design and construction errors without requiring a complete structural rebuild. Through our years of experience, CVM has developed numerous important relationships with resin suppliers like Sika, Simpson StrongTie, and QuakeWrap who have all recommended CVM Inc. Fabric Saturators as an ideal unit for uniform application of their proprietary products.

Benefits

Simple Set-Up & Operation

All fabric saturators have been designed with ease of use in mind and can impregnate up to 50 feet per minute with only a single operator. Each available width (25”, 36”, and 50”) features the same core design and operates in a similar fashion allowing customers to operate multiple units without requiring unique training for each.

Easy to Clean

CVM Inc. fabric saturators are designed with a stress-free cleanup in mind. The fabric saturator involves minimal wetted parts and the quick-release components offer easy access for thorough cleaning practices. Simply rinse with a mild soap and higher-pressure water source while allowing components to dry thoroughly before operation. Always check local or site regulations on waste disposal to ensure any resin residue is properly disposed of.

Mobility

Commercial-grade casters installed at the base of the frame allow for effortless movement at the job site with only minimal manual labor and no additional equipment required. Each wheel can be locked to provide added stabilization during operation.

More Features

Heavy-Duty Construction

The robust powder-coated steel tube frame is built to last and is capable of withstanding environmental conditions present with outdoor storage. The steel tubing provides rigid structural support without the added weight of solid components and improves mobility. Each fabric saturator features minimal moving parts and thus requires limited maintenance even after years of consistent operation. Routine cleaning of the unit after operation helps ensure longevity and optimal performance.

Custom Components

With over 25 years of experience, we’ve developed unique custom components specific to our fabric saturators that immediately improve operator efficiency in an ergonomic design. We are confident that these design advancements offer superior saturation and uniform impregnation of fabrics for any end application no matter the fabrics or resins used.

Operator Ease

No lengthy training is required and anyone can become an expert operator within an hour. CVM-manufactured fabric saturators are highly efficient with only a single operator at the helm. The extremely straightforward controls and machine setup allow for anyone to operate at full efficiency quickly.
